Conceptual Modeling: Topics, Themes, and Technology Trends

Conceptual modeling is an important part of information systems development and use that involves identifying representing relevant aspects reality. Although the past decades have experienced continuous digitalization services products impact business society, conceptual efforts are still required to support new technologies as they emerge. This paper surveys research on over five shows how its topics trends continue evolve accommodate emerging technologies, while remaining grounded in basic constructs. We survey 5,300 papers address from 1970s present, which collected 35 multidisciplinary journals conferences, them basis analyze progression modeling. The role should play our evolving digital world discussed, future directions proposed.
